When James reaches Silent Hill he discovers that it is not the same, beautiful town as it was in the past. After leaving the town’s observation deck and traveling toward Silent Hill, James comes across the Toluca Graveyard and meets Angela Orosco, a teenage girl who came to the town to search for her mother. The letter states that Mary is waiting for James in their “special place”, which confuses James, as the whole town of Silent Hill was their “special place”. James Sunderland has arrived in the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his recently deceased wife, Mary, despite the fact that she had died from an illness three years ago.
Note: Silent Hill 2 is set 10 years after the events of the first Silent Hill game, sometime in the 1990s. It was re released in HD graphics and new voices, along with Silent Hill 3 for the Silent Hill HD Collection. The changes added to the Restless Dreams port was also included in the re-released Greatest Hits/Platinum Edition for the PS2. It was later ported to Microsoft Xbox (with the subtitle “Restless Dreams” and included previously unreleased features such as a playable sub-scenario) and the PC. It launched in North America on September 24th, 2001 for the PS2. Silent Hill 2 is the second installment of the Silent Hill series and the first game of the series to be released for Sony PlayStation 2.
